Joe Maneely and The Ringo Kid 1954-1957

The Ringo Kid ran for 21 issues from 1954 through 1957. Joe Maneely drew two runs on the title, and they book ended the series. I previously posted a few stories that John Severin drew right after Maneely ended his first run with issue 5. The interesting aspect to the art on both runs is how his style changed slightly within those two years. His latter run, which begins with issue 17, seems to breathe a bit more. His compositions are more open, and the colors used are bolder and striking. The powerful use of primary colors in a minimal fashion packs a visual punch. A different colorist from the first series, I'm sure. The art is less detailed, but not to the detriment of the pieces as a whole.

Enjoy the stories below, even if in visuals only.
